About
More Than A Production Company.
Tell Ours Studio was founded in 2021 by formerly incarcerated storytellers who learned the hard way that whoever holds the camera holds the narrative — and that narratives shape what's possible.
We started in a single-room office in West Haven with two cameras and a question: who gets to tell our stories, and what would change if it was us?
Four years in, we're a full studio — documentary unit, commercial arm, editing suite, training pipeline. We work with Yale, with Prison Policy Initiative, with grassroots coalitions, with small brands run by people we grew up around. The thread is the same: films that take their subjects seriously.
Every project we take on funds the next emerging creator we train. Every film we make is built so the people inside it can hold it, show it, and use it long after we wrap.
